About the show:

Wolfy is a 90-minute opera about Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, focusing on some of the poignant moments in his life and his relationships with individuals who were close to him. It is full of beautiful melodies that you will go home humming. Even if you know practically nothing of Mozart, you will thoroughly enjoy Wolfy. Audience members will become acquainted with the person Mozart was and feel a closer connection to the musical genius through his charming personality and charisma as presented in this captivating production.

Wolfy opens with scenes from Mozart’s childhood, revealing his great love for his mother and sister and his need to please his father who has significant plans for the musical prodigy. After a very brief interlude and address from the narrator, bringing the audience up to speed, we see Mozart’s relationship with his first love, his heartbreak at his mother’s death and his marriage to Constanze Weber. The opera closes with a beautiful and touching ensemble of the women who loved Wolfy, each expressing her own feelings for him.

Founded at the beginning of 2007, we are a group of Atlanta-based singers and musicians with the goal of bringing opera to a wider audience, ensuring the continuing legacy of an art form that we love and cherish. We are opera for the 21st century and beyond, a fresh new approach to a 400-year-old artistic medium. Our shows, by award-winning Russian-American composer, Misha V. Stefanuk, include original music and texts in English, written specifically to please our audiences.
